So for Memorial Day (well actually the day before on Sunday) we had a great meal over at Dad and JM's house. We had barbeque ribs, brats, corn and salad. Yum! Here's what Nicky thought of it all:
Then after dinner we headed home (next door) and found our power was out. We hung out for a few hours until it was really dark and getting hot. But poor Nicky was too warm:
So we headed back to Dad and JM's for air conditioning and to spend the night. Of course then their power went out after we'd gotten all settled down. But then after a short time it actually came back on, and around midnight or so we went home and went to sleep. That's when this picture was taken:
What an evening! We spent most of Memorial Day just relaxing in the air conditioning after that. You just gotta love AC.

Nicky withdrawl
So I'm sitting here at work, getting ready to go do another presentation and suffering from Nicky Withdrawl when I get this email from my home address and see...
Oh my GOD he's just so darn CUTE!
Tom just took this photo last night while Nicky and I were playing. Tom's dad is letting us borrow his camera! Lucky us! AND lucky you! You finally get to see more cute pictures like this!
Ah, he's so cute!

My First Mother's Day
What a face!
This was the little cutie I got to sit next to for our Mother's Day Brunch that Tom created for us. He was all dolled up in his 3-6 month outfit with a little hat and everything! AND he sat in his high chair with us at the table. He seems to really enjoy sitting at the table with everyone during meals now. I guess that means no more eating in front of the TV and computer...
Tom outdid himself for my first Mother's Day! I got two cards, well actually three because Tom gave me a "just because" card on Saturday and then I received a card from Nicky and another one from Tom on Sunday. You wouldn't believe all the bath goodies I got! I think there are three different scents of bodywash and foot spa stuff and bath gloves...Now if I can just get some time IN the bath I'm set! :) But best of all Tom and Nicky bought me a ring! Tom's actually getting it sized right now so that I can hopefully wear it next week. It's so pretty...white and yellow gold with three diamonds. I'm going to wear it for my wedding band I think. You know, you can never go wrong with jewelry!
Nicky was so cute for everyone. We had my mom and sister Elizabeth come for the weekend and Jessica came by and spent Saturday night with us. Saturday we celebrated Elizabeth's birthday a little early and Tom made a delicious dinner of Ropa Vieja and saffron rice. Yum! Marble cheesecake was our dessert. Not quite a birthday cake, but I don't think anyone minded.
For brunch, Tom made eggs, bacon, and sausage. Then we also had bagels with cream cheese, smoked salmon, cucumber, tomato and onion. AND watermelon, cantelope and pineapple. We would have had honeydew too but it was a yicky one...fruit's a gamble you know. Tom's dad and J.M. came over for brunch and we had quite the feast! And Nicky sat at the table the whole time as cute as can be!
My mother and Elizabeth gave me a bag full of goodies for Mother's Day too. And Jessica gave me a super sweet card. All in all it was a really lovely day! After we get a chance to give Tom's mom her Mother's day stuff (she's coming soon, but has been sick. Poor Nana!) I'll be able to share what Nicky and I did for his Grandmothers for Mother's Day! But it's still a secret right now, so Shhhh!
Now I've just gotta figure out how to do this well with Father's Day! Yikes!

Long time no post...
Well, that was a long time to wait for a post! We've really got to get a new camera so that we can take more pics. Sharing photos is what really gets me online here!
Well, Nicky had his 2 month pediatrician appointment on Friday. He was exactly 8 weeks old and has he grown!
Weight: 13 pounds, 6 ounces (90th percentile)
Length: 22 1/2 inches (50th percentile, but we don't think they stretched his leg out all the way, we measure at least 23 inches at home)
Head Circumference: 39 centimeters
He's a big, healthy baby boy! She said he should be able to skip his middle of the night feeding and sleep for 8 hours a night in his crib. So we started trying this on Friday night. Man am I tired! He's not thrilled to miss that feeding, but he's ok with that. What he is NOT ok with is sleeping in his crib instead of on top of his mommy! We're so exhausted I don't know which way is up right now. But hopefully if we perservere we will have a baby who will sleep in his crib and I can get back to sleeping in a bed instead of an armchair! Bliss!
At his appointment he also got his shots, 5 of them all in a row. Poor baby! He didn't like that one bit! But he quieted right down afterwards when Daddy held him. And he tolerated them fine. Next round of shots will be in another 8 weeks.
Sunday was my first Mother's Day, and it was splendid! Tom and Nicky picked out wonderful gifts, lots of bath goodies to pamper myself with and a very pretty diamond ring! (You just can't go wrong with jewelry!) Tom also cooked a fabulous Mother's Day brunch for me, my mom and J.M. It was super tasty! Tom's mom is down with a virus of some sort and so we'll have to have her over for a Mother's Day dinner sometime later this week when she comes to visit. I tell ya, I have my work cut out for me to make Father's Day this memorable!
I have a few snapshots with Tom's cellphone that I can add on here while we await a new camera. Hopefully I can get one up here later today (IF I can stay awake long enough when I get home!) I'm just so darn tired though, so don't hold your breath, just come back and check!

Ready for a new picture?
I am! I'm having serious camera withdrawl. Apparently I didn't leave it at my sisters and it's fallen into that black hole where missing socks go. JM was kind enough to put some photos on disk for me though and she takes a bunch so I'm in hog heaven today! I have added quite a few (about 9) to the photo album, click on the link to the right "Nicky's Photos" to see them. My favorite though goes right here!
Isn't he just a little angel?! This was taken on Monday, May 1st. He's 6 weeks and 3 days old here and wearing his 3-6 month clothes already! This little guy isn't so little!
