Nicky the Impressionist

Well, I got rid of the Meebo widget. I think it was making the page take longer to load and I kept forgetting to be logged in anyway. Aw well.

More movies have been put up. I think I also put up a few new photos in May also.

So you know you want to hear all about Nicky's latest escapade right? Well, about a week ago Nicky was napping while Daddy was out in the living room. Nicky was being nice and quiet. Daddy decided Nicky was ready to wake up to have some lunch. Daddy goes in Nicky's room and lo and behold...Naked Baby! And what's this? He's been painting! With what you ask? Do you REALLY need to ask? Yes, Nicky had discovered the wonder that is poop painting. Needless to say he was promptly thrown in the bathtub and scrubbed down. Then put in his playroom while daddy scrubbed the heck out of the crib, the walls and washed all the linens and toys. What a mess!

Tom called me at work after he finished to tell me the good news. Our son is a painter! I can't tell you how glad I was to be at work. :) Now if we can get him to change his choice of medium we'll be set. Say it with me... CRAYOLA!

Note to self...

Babies have sharp teeth. Ow.

Nicky's on the verge of getting another tooth. He's got a distinct bump up on the top where his left canine will come in. I felt it yesterday without incident, but today my finger was sorely abused. Bleeding in fact. Lots of neosporin and a bandaid were required.

On another note, Nicky will be walking any second now. I tried to catch him on tape in case he just started walking, and upon review I think he might have took a half a step on his own. It doesn't really count as full on walking yet, but we're SO close! Video is going up now.

Just a little update and the big news!

It's just been too long since I changed the blog! We're all doing fine here. Nicky is still holding at two teeth and getting closer to walking everyday, but no action on either front yet.

The most exciting news is that Tom finished his classes and has received his bachelors degree! He's done! He's really REALLY done! Yay! He refused to walk for his graduation, so that made it feel a little anticlimactic I guess, along with the fact that at UF they mail you your degree even if you do walk, and it takes about 6 weeks to get it. Bummer. Maybe we'll have to have a party when his degree arrives! :) Anything to have a party, right?

Even though it might not feel like a big deal to Tom now (but it IS a big deal to me!) I know Tom's going to be so happy to have his degree under his belt. Nicky will be able to say both his parents graduated from college, and UF at that! Quite the prestigious place this year in particular. Especially if he turns out to be a football or basketball kind of guy.

So now Tom's working on writing his book. How cool would it be to be married to a published author? :)

My Daemon and My Asthma

That was a fun little thing I found online via some of my library blogs. I'd read this children's book but didn't realize they're making it into a movie. I can't wait to see it! The first book of the trilogy was best, not as good as Harry Potter, but good. The last book was not so great. I hope the movie is more like the first book!

I'm feeling much better cold-wise, but my asthma is acting up. I actually didn't even realize it was asthma till yesterday. It was Saturday when "the cough" hit me at dinner time. I got it under control with a cough suppressant that night, but it hit again Monday night really badly and kept me home Tuesday. I figured out that it was all the smoke from the fires in Waycross, GA that triggered my asthma. On the one hand I'm actually glad this is it and I'm not coming down with pnuemonia or something. I was dreading having to go to the doctor. So now I'm trying to just stay inside as much as possible and use my inhaler. I'm still coughing, but hopefully it will rain in the next few days and clear out the air. I found a picture online of what it looked like on Monday (when I got a lot of exposure that made me so sick Tuesday). Here's the pic.
